The Ma Ayesha
Memorial Centre for the Care & Control of Neuromuscular Disorders
owes
its inception to the devotion of a grateful son, Ahmed Abdullah. The sight
of his mother confined to a wheel chair at the age of 100 years inspired him
to establish a facility to assist persons affected by neuromuscular
disorders. Ma Ayesha herself was also very keen to initiate services
for those seeking treatment for this condition.
On her 100th Birthday, the establishment of The Ahmed Abdullah foundation
was announced and in March 1989 The Ma Ayesha Memorial Centre for Care
and control of Neuromuscular Disorder was opened.
